DieselPro QuickBooks Data Interchange #001
August 10, 2011
Issue:
Because of QuickBooks requirement of "exactness" in matching imported information with existing QB information, any changes to "core" information (ex. customer and vendor names and addresses, name of an inventory part, general ledger account, etc) in QB must also be made in DieselPro and at the same time.
Any transactions occurring between when the changes are made in the two systems will not import correctly.
Why this "exactness" match? The "exactness" match is a requirement of QuickBooks that can neither be changed, adjusted, or allowed for and is a critical requirement of the data interchange.
Recommendations:
1. It is recommended that a change list be created at the time of change in either system, with the change in the other system also documented to confirm completion of the process.
2. The list of changes should be reviewed before exporting out of DieselPro and importing into QB to confirm changes in each system.
Importance:
CRITICAL
Tip:
DieselPro System Manager
In DieselPro the system manager is used to setup the default general ledger accounts and the sales tax vendor name used in the data interchange.
